On August 9th, at the picturesque Kudłacze Glade near Myślenice, we gathered with our volunteers and our “little candidates” to celebrate the first anniversary of the Footprint Foundation.
It was a day full of joy, conversations, plans for the months ahead, and above all, deep gratitude.

What we take from our first year:

• a community of people eager to take action,

In western Kenya, in the rural village of Munami, the local community has long dreamed of a safe, welcoming place where young children could begin their educational journey. Today, many of them attend preschool in a dilapidated building that poses serious risks to their health and safety.
Together with the people of Munami, teachers, and parents, we are launching the construction of a new Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) center that will provide care and learning opportunities for up to 300 children aged 3 to 6.
But this is not just a school — it is:
a chance for educational equality,
a powerful step toward long-term social change,
a project with deep community roots and strong local support.
Why does it matter?

With great joy, we announce the launch of a new educational project by the Footprint Foundation – a journey for us all into places we often know too little about. The project, “The Global South Is Closer Than You Think”, is a series of meetings, stories, and actions that bring us closer to the everyday lives, challenges, and dreams of people living in Africa and Asia.
At the heart of this project is the human being – their story, their perspective, their voice. Together, we aim to build bridges between continents, cultures, and generations. To educate with empathy. To speak with respect. To leave a footprint – a good one.
The first event of the series takes place on May 20th in Bielsko-Biała.
